![]() ![]() Too much shit comes in any version of Komplete you invest in and you'd really need to be producing music non-stop to get to the point where you need to start reaching out of the base sets of tools to use some of their less-popular plugins. To your 20% usage point - yes, I think it's reasonable that someone making a specific genre of music (trap beats for example) may not see a lot of use in Abbey Road drums or the West African percussion plugin. You can buy 3rd party patches for synths but really that's very uncommon and NI Komplete comes with a range of other synths I didn't mention that fill in the gaps (Modular Icons or Form, for example). But the catch is you still need to own Kontakt 6 to make that happen. Kontakt is a sampler that is more in-line with what you're talking about - 3rd party sample packs like Spitfire Audio's products leave anything NI makes in the dust. Komplete is different tiers of the suite, which are fairly standalone products. I think you might be confusing Komplete with Kontakt. I think it's easy to undervalue a product like NI's Komplete package if you're a serial VST collector and I wouldn't say they offer much if you already have some of the bigger, more expensive VST synths like Omnisphere or Serum. ![]() ![]() Absynth, Massive, FM8 and Form are just a few of the synths I find myself going back to when I need to add texture or I'm looking for some kind of inspiration/push of creativity. Different people have different use cases and the variety of synths Komplete has on its own makes it very worthwhile. Hard disagree from me on your point about it being overrated (though I totally respect your opinion). ![]()
